Two Fall Workshops will be held to orient coaches and teams
to the 2007 Massachusetts Envirothon.
Orientation Workshop for Coaches
Thursday, September 28, 2006 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
MA DCR Headquarters-John Augustus Hall
Wachusetts Reservoir in West Boylston.
This workshop will feature an overview and introduction to the eco-stations test sites which combine the topic areas of water, forestry, soils and wildlife and will also offer resource materials and an overview of this year's current issue topic, Conservation and Renewable Energy in Massachusetts Communities. This workshop is free; lunch will be provided. This is also a great opportunity to meet those who have coached in the past, ask them questions and hear from them about the program.
Massachusetts Envirothon Workshop for Teams (coaches and students)
Thursday, November 16, 2006 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
This workshop is open to coaches, up to three team members and even those who are just becoming acquainted with the program. Five or more workshops will run concurrently, offering a variety of sessions on each of the topic areas (forestry, soils, water and wildlife), this year’s current issue, eco-stations, environmental skills and campus tours. Resource materials will also be provided. Participants will be asked to cover the costs for their own parking and bring or purchase their own lunch.
